This meteor shower, as the name suggests originates from the Gemini constellation. The Geminids is an unusual shower as it created from leftovers of an asteroid. Most meteor showers are the leftovers of comets.

The Taurid meteor shower is taken place right now and will continue through the weekend, with the peak expected to be after midnight on the 11th and 12th.
