Star of the Month – Rigel

The star Rigel is easy to spot, It is located in the lower right corner of the great winter constellation Orion. It is a very bright and blue-white in colour.
In January Orion is riding at its highest around 7, directly south. By early March however Rigel will have drop to just below the horizon and by May it is setting before the sky has had a chance to get dark. So check it now while you can.
